Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

"The Second Vatican Council proclaimed that the Eucharistic Sacrifice is the source and summit of the Christian life.  For the most Holy Eucharist contains the Church's entire spiritual wealth; Christ himself, our passover and living bread." Ecclesia DeEucharistia #1

The bishop, priests and deacons are the ordinary ministers of holy communion.  But when a congregation is large and to facilitate an orderly and reverent distribution of holy communion, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are nominated and commissioned by the pastor upon their appointment by the bishop.

Serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is a special privilege and those who serve must always be conscious of the sacred presence they hold in their hands and must seek to live Christ-centered lives.

This ministry is open to men and women 18 years or older.  Training will be provided and regular updating.
