Becoming Catholic/ RCIA- Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
Interested in Becoming Catholic?
If you, or someone you know, have never been baptized, or, have been baptized in another religion, and have a desire to become Catholic, our parish offers a path to full initiation into the Catholic faith. This also includes those adults who are baptized Catholic already, but who have never made First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
The path forward is RCIA, which focuses on conversion and having the desire to journey as a fully active Catholic, while also learning about the teachings of Christ's church. If you are interested in learning more about this process, we will hold a ZOOM VIRTUAL INQUIRY EVENING on Monday, October 19, 7:30 PM. Just join in, listen, and ask any questions you may have about the Catholic faith and the process necessary to be fully initiated.
If an Inquirer decides to proceed more fully into the Catholic faith, they are invited to continue in the RCIA process which will lead to the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism (for those who are unbaptized); Eucharist and Confirmation for those previously baptized.
NOTE- those adults needing Confirmation only, do not go through RCIA, but take different classes.
Inquiry sessions are for those who wish to inquire, explore, and search for ways to grow in relationship with God, and consider the possibility of joining the Catholic Church. These sessions are opportunities to ask questions and do not assume a commitment to join the Catholic Church.
If you believe God might be calling you into a relationship with Him, we welcome your inquiry and will be honored to walk with you as you seek to discern His will for your life.
We ask those planning to attend the Virtual Inquiry Evening to pre-register.
