In addition to his general responsibilities within the parish, he will also serve as Msgr. Celano's vicar for our Spanish-speaking community while continuing in his role as co-director and coordinator of Hispanic Lay Formation for the Diocese of Metuchen. Fr. Gustavo, who is originally from Colombia, pursued his academic endeavors in Theology at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA. Upon his ordination in 2020, Father Gustavo dedicated himself to his pastoral duties as a parochial vicar at St. Joseph Church parish and Saint Luke parish in North Plainfield. In 2023, he was appointed to the Parish of the Visitation in New Brunswick, where he also served as a parochial vicar before coming to us. Fr. Jay Alquiros, Director of Catholic Identity and Faculty Member, Immaculata High School. Fr. Jay Alquiros was born in the Philippines. Prior to his ordination to the priesthood, he graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of North Florida in 2012. He entered the seminary in 2015 and was ordained a priest in 2021. He was assigned to the Cathedral Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen where he has served as parochial vicar until his reassignment to us. His hope and goal for Immaculata is to bring those whom he serves close to Christ through his priestly ministry in the school.
